This year, we decided to try something different . . .
We have 3 trees - a small one in the boys room, a medium one in the dining room with colored lights and matching ornaments and a Santa hat topping it off and in the living room . . .
all homemade ornaments
Cornhusk angels, twig stars, cinnamon ornaments,
dried orange slices, and other dried fruits stacked with cinnamon sticks and bay leaves
What do you think?
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Oh Cathy..... I love those ornaments... Bet your house smells good--with all of that fruit and cinnamon.... What a neat idea... Love the cornstalk angels. I collect angels --and don't have one of these. How special!
We only put up one tree --except for the tiny one in our bedroom. Our big tree is a hodge-podge of all kinds of memories... I love pulling out the ornaments each year --and thinking about them... SO much fun.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
This is the part of Christmas I miss, homemade. I think your tree is wonderful and I love those angels. :)

What a great idea. I decorated a huge spruce in my front yard and felt maybe I need some window lights, but don't always get much farther.
Oh, I love your trees and ornaments. I wish I could take a sniff of the orange and clove ornament. I'll bet it smells devine!

I "think" you have 3 beautiful Christmas Trees!!!!!
What a wonderful way to capture the spirit of the holiday in a tangible, memorable way. You had me at the backlit orange slice!
Followed your link home from Dawn's site. What a delightful blog you have!
Thanks everyone! I love sitting beside the tree and smelling the cinnamon and watching the lights twinkle.
Oh I love this! It must smell Deeee(light)ful:)))
Love the lights of Christmas!
Absolutely wonderful.
I like them all, but especially the star and cornhusk angel. I would love to make one for my tree, but dried cornhusk is not easy to come by here in Scotland.
Whoo-hoo, nice ornaments! Love home-made anything... that's the best!
