Any idea?
Juvenile Rosebreasted Grosbeak?
Juvenile Downy Woodpecker?
Bluebird or Indigo Bunting?
This is one of the Mother's Day plants I picked out. I love Fuschia. My Grandfather's sister, Alna, always had this growing on her front porch. It reminded me of her.

The first one looks like a chickadee and the blue one is the indigo bunting not a bluebird. Not sure on the others.
Marcia is correct about the 1st bird. Given your area it is likely a Black-capped Chickadee.
The 2nd is an adult male Rose-breasted Grosbeak in the process of replacing his winter coat with his breeding coat.
I strongly believe that the 3rd is a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak. You could have them nesting soon!
Again Marcia is correct...A male Indigo Bunting.
Sweet photos! I love Fuschias also. The flowers are so...different and love the fact that Hummers like them also.
Congrats on the nesting Bluebirds!
Oh my gosh!! I have new birds to add to my lifelist. Can you believe it? My sister thinks I'm such a dork. :-) I LOVE it!
Thanks ladies! I always know I can count on fellow bloggers for help.
Seems I have been beaten to the punch -- but I concur with the conclusions. What a variety of birds! How neat!
We need to get you a good iD book, one for your state specific. You have a great collection in your area.Go to Amazon or half price books online and look at what they have. I would do it for you but end up finding lots I can use,HA!
Oh Steve, I know I need one. I had a great one, but gave it to an adult with special needs. He was phenomenal. He could identify birds by sound only.
Maybe for my birthday!
Hi Cathy, I love fuschia also. I hope I get another one this year... I tried to keep it alive during the winter --but it didn't make it.
I think everyone has identified your birds..1st-chickadee; 2nd-ADULT Rose-breasted Grosbeak; 3rd--??? NOT a female Grosbeak or a juvenile; also not a downy; 4th and 5th- bunting... Great group!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Me again, Cathy... I was at another blog and saw a bird which 'may'???? be the 3rd one above... It is a Black-headed Grosbeak (which I have never seen)... Not sure because the one in her picture has more yellow rather than white.... BUT--it's a possibility.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hey Betsy, thanks for trying! I'm still looking!
Cathy, Post the picture in question on B&B's What's This Bird forum. You should get a firm ID.
Great captures. The first one is a chickadee and you were right about the blue one being an Indigo Bunting. I like your blog, I'll be your latest follower. :)
